30 April 2024
Some good 2-3ft runners this morning out at Tland. Wind was south east not too steady so some good fun wave were out there for punters. Tide was high at 1.44 pm at around 3.10 meters.
29 April 2024
A nice surprise today with an unexpected pulse in the surf at Tland. The morning it was around 2-3ft, shoulder high on the sets with a slight north west wind. It was quite fun. Late morning I saw overhead sets consistently breaking and guys out there where having a ball. Winds became pretty steady from the south east which would of been a challenge as the reef covered over with the in coming tide. High tide was at 1.03 pm at 3.3 meters.
28 April 2024
A flat day for surf on Rote island. Probably doesn’t get much smaller than today.
27 April 2024
Swell has dropped away today at 1-2ft still some small runners for the desperate and the wind at Tland had more of a north east in it causing the small wave faces to be choppy. A good day for a rest from the previous swell.
26 April 2024
Swell still coming through at Tland at 2-3ft, chest to shoulder high perfect conditions with south east winds and not a lot of guys in the water. High tide is at 12,45pm at around 2.90 meters.
25 April 2024
Plenty of waves still coming through at Tland at around 3-4ft, shoulder to head high with great conditions, winds south east offshore. High tide at 12.30pm at around 3.20 meters.
24 April 2024
Still plenty of swell around at Tland today at around 4-5ft. A bit of morning sickness early but when the south east wind kicked in the waves held up a lot better. The mountain had the choice waves today. Bigger tides today around 3.20 meters at about 12.00 pm.
23 April 2024
Tland was on fire today with sets up to 6ft, head to head and a half high. The mountain had the best waves in the afternoon doing it’s classic run into Bananas. High tide is around noon at about 3.10 meters. Winds have been steady south east during the middle of the day.
22 April 2024
The morning the swell had dropped to around 2ft, shoulder high but by lunch time with the start of the tide dropping there were 4 ft sets peeling down Tland reef. Wind was still consistent south east making it quite hollow through the point. High tide was around 12.00 pm at about 3.00 meters.
21 April 2024
Still plenty of swell today with some nice waves coming through at Tland. Maybe a touch smaller than yesterday consistent around head high. Wind was a bit more steady from the south east but definitely not too strong. High tide around 11.30 am at around 2.90 metres.
20 April 2024
Some real waves to surf today. 3-4 ft around head high and a little above. Quite a fun size with a few barrels towards the point. Wind was a steady south east holding the faces up nicely. High tide was around 11.00 am.
19 April 2024
Finally some rideable waves out at Tland. Waist to chest high waves around the 2-3ft range. High tide was around 10.20 am. Let the fun begin.
18 April 2024
A very slight bump in the swell today with waist high waves. Conditions are excellent for Tland but a new swell needs to hit the reef. Hopefully tomorrow.
17 April 2024
Tland has perfect condition again today but lacking swell. Waves are around knee high.
16 April 2024
No waves today again probably the smallest Tland gets which is usually a sign of a new swell coming.
15 April 2024
No waves again today at Tland maybe knee high sets at it’s best and the wind conditions are perfect.
14 April2024
Still no surfable waves in Nemberala as this drone shot above Lualemba Bungalow resort shows. Perfect conditions are around all day it’s a pity there are no waves.
13 April 2024
Another tiny wave day in Nemberala with waves around 1-2ft, knee to waist high with a slight north eastwind in the morning turning south east later in the day.
12 April 2024
As you can see by the photo of Tland it would be a great day for barefoot skiing on the ocean with no waves and perfect wind conditions. High tide is around 1.30 pm at 3.70 meters.
11 April 2024
Lately waiting for a new decent swell has been like watching the grass at Lualemba Bungalow Resort grow. Winds and conditions have been perfect just a lack of waves.
10 April 2024
Lualemba Bungalow Resort guests enjoyed a sailing trip to Dana island to do some snorkelling. The surf was that flat it was difficult to negotiate the channel between the reef. The winds were perfect for sailing with our first taste of trades from the south east at around 15 knots.
9 april 2024
Lualemba Bungalow Resort guests went out road tripping today as the swell dropped out to nothing. They went to Nol the most southern part of Indonesia. The winds were light today but swung 360 degrees throughout the day.
8 April 2024
The waves today were a steady waste to shoulder high with a slight north west wind so Boa had the best option for waves. Guests enjoyed a fun session but were hoping for a little more size.
7 april 2024
Today there was a little bump is the swell with our guests getting some small waist high waves a Boa. A lot of fun with only a few surfers out.
6 April 2024
Today was another no swell day with perfect conditions. Great weather for fishing especially jigging and bottom fishing.
5 April 2024
This is Petrol Bombs at its smallest. Perfect conditions with no swell hitting Rote island, still plenty of rain and a consistent north wind. Maybe a good day for a game of chess.
4 April 2024
The swell has dropped a lot today with a consistent north wind blowing and some huge downpours of rain giving Rote island late soaking. A low pressure south of Sumba has killed any of the swell left from the waves earlier in the week.
3 April 2024
Today was a classic Tland day with light south east winds and 3-4ft, shoulder to head high waves with long playful walls. Guests at Lualemba Bungalow Resort were super stoked with two surfs saying this is why we come to Rote island with two awesome surfs today. High tide was at 4.20pm at 2.6 meters.
Cheers for now Dave
2 April 2024
There wasn’t much change in the swell today ranging around the 5-6ft, head and a half high and there were a few squalls in the weather causing some steady south wind blows at Tland surf reef. Small storm activity was the cause from these wind blows but there were also some calm south east wind periods that brought some good surf periods for those out there at the time. High tide was at 2.41pm at 2.8 meters.
Cheers Dave
1 April 2024
April start of the season 2024 was greeted with a solid swell and all punters enjoyed waves up to the 6-8ft range, close to double over head out at Tland. Early morning there was a steady south wind on it but as the day went the wind eased and swung more to the east. This created some fun sessions for those surfers who enjoyed bigger waves but not too big. High tide was at 2.20pm at 3.00 meters.
Happy days cheers Dave
