More Than Just A Place To Stay
At Rote Surf Resort - Lualemba Bungalow, we strive to provide a harmonious and sustainable environment for our guests to enjoy. Our traditional bungalows, permaculture gardens, communal area with restaurant and bar or the natural pool area all contribute to creating a unique and memorable experience during your stay with us.
Inside our bungalows, you'll find large modern spring beds complete with mosquito nets to ensure a comfortable sleep. We provide pedestal large fans to keep the rooms cooler, seating, desk space and our electricity is set at 220 volts (Australian 240 volt electrical goods / plugs work fine with our outlets).
The unique coconut leaf style roofs of our bungalows are inner lined with PVCA roofing and ceilings for extra protection from dirt, vermin and extra insulation from the tropical heat. You can enjoy a comfortable temperature inside your bungalow without relying heavily on fans or air conditioning. The single room accomodation has air conditioning if you need that extra assurance.
The main beauty of Rote Surf Resort / Lualemba Bungalow Resort are the flowering gardens mixed with a permaculture abundance of edible fruiting trees and plants. Most of the fruits while in season are enjoyed by guests with their morning fruit salad that comes standard with breakfast or in the many types of juices made from the kitchen.
Peacefully set in amongst the cool gardens is a naturally swimming pool that is chemically free by using continuous flowing waterfalls where the water is ionized. The upper ponds have fish and plants creating natural filters.
On site we have our own reverse osmosis drinking water system producing and managing our water that is safe for guests to drink, cooking and ice for all sorts of mixed drinks.
Included in the price of accommodation at Rote Surf Resort / Lualemba Bungalows guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast at our modern-style Lualemba restaurant and bar, conveniently located at the bungalow site. Our restaurant offers a variety of breakfast options from the breakfast menu plus a tea or coffee and a refreshing fruit salad. Lunch menu offers a great selection of dishes to satisfy your cravings including both Indonesian and Western styles, allowing guests to choose what suits their tastes. Well priced from our menu for a worthy feed. A banquet dinner is available several times a week often consists of a special set meal, providing a unique dining experience.

Whether you follow a vegetarian, vegan, or other special diet, we strive to provide delicious and satisfying meals that meet your requirements.
Exploration of the area, guests staying at Rote Surf Resort / Lualemba Bungalows have the option to hire motor scooters that come equipped with surfboard racks. This allows you to easily transport your surfboard and explore the various surf breaks and other attractions in Rote. We do recommend wearing helmets while riding the scooters for your safety, and obtaining an international license in your home country is recommended for travel insurance purposes.
Rote Surf Resort / Lualemba Bungalows is ideally located just a short stroll of approximately 400 meters from the boat harbor at Nemberala beach. This is the main departure point for surfers who want to access the surf breaks in the area. We are closer to the boat harbor compared to many other accommodations that claim to be located directly on the beach in front of the surf breaks.
We have a token system with the boat operators on the beach for boat shuttles to Besialu Reef, also known as Tland, which is located approximately 1 kilometer from the beach. The token system works well with each guests taking 2 tokens per surf. One for the trip out and a second if you encounter any equipment issues or if the conditions change, The boat operator that took you out may not be available for the return trip so you can use another boat operator to return back to the beach.
Rote Surf Resort / Lualemba Bungalows have several boats available for outer island day yacht trips, fishing charters and a fast boat to surf reef further from Nemberala.
