May 2022 - Lualemba Bungalow Resort - Nemberala Rote Island - Newsletter

Hi Guys and Gals

The May newsletter is a little behind schedule because business is getting back to usual here with guests and improvements are in full swing. The wet season has been coming back to haunt us with unusual rains for this time of year but it hasn’t stopped the waves producing the pristine Indo juice we all enjoy here in Rote.

Lualemba Surf Bus

Lualemba guests heading out for an early surf at Tland in Nemberala. Here at Lualemba Bungalows we have your surf trip sorted with our yellow surf bus organised with racks for the boards and a easy climb ladder to enter back on board the boat that is as easy as it gets. Our captains are on the beach before 6.00am and are there all day till 6.30 pm to bring you back in. They manage the boat to the tides so the boat is always available for guests to go surfing. The captain sits near the surf break while you surf in case you need the boat in a hurry incase of injury or equipment malfunction. If the boat leaves the surf area it is to pick up or return other guests staying at Lualemba Bungalows.

New member to the Lualemba Family

Meet Oska who is the latest dog at Lualemba. He is a micro Pomeranian brother to Doli and Azora.

A epic day out at Oeseli

Lonely waves at Oeseli reef when the swell picked up at Tland to 10ft Oeseli had some 4=5 ft screamers down the reef. I turned up on this day expecting a small crowd to paddle out and have it to myself. It wasn’t a real wind day so it was running perfectly down the reef. Alot of wind on it and it can become a bit sectiony with it shutting down ahead of you.

The local Delha language becomes recognized internationally.

A lot of hard work has paid off for a few hard working locals who have translated the local Delha language from the old and new testaments of the bible. A ceremony was conducted at the church in Nemberala for the Delha language to be recognized internationally. Traditional dancing and music along with other local customs were celebrated with a church service. I was officially presented with a bible in the local Delha language with other officials who attended.

Improvements have made a huge impact making Lualemba Bungalows looking new again.

The bungalows have now been painted inside and out more furniture has been added to make guests more comfortable. As you can see in the photos during covid the grass is a lot green that is more than a pretty look it stops the dust that blows from the trade winds. It is so great to be able to claim as the only dust free resort in Rote. The Restaurant and bar area has a new sparkle about it with new paint and a more relaxing atmosphere added to it. This does not stop here we have great new plans for the near future too with some renovations to sme of the first original bungalows and fitouts with more furniture and comforts.
