Another sunset at Nemberala beach with Tland surf break on the horizon.
Te Aila looking a little down in the dumps.
Te Aila is a fun day out discovering remote nearby islands to hang out on or go snorkeling on beautiful coral reefs. Catching epic waves with just a couple of mates or just the exciting thrill of sailing amongst dolphins, whale sharks and huge manta rays. During July the thrill of sailing got the better of us returning from Ndana island after a wonderful day out with a family. When almost back at NEMBERALA the wind gusts got a little too strong for TeAila when its mast collapsed while under sail. Immediately we call a local fishing boat that was good enough to bring Te Aila to her mooring where we were able to recover most of the equipment that collapsed over onto the side of the yacht. Now Te Aila is going through complete overhaul that is expected to be like never before for the start of season 2025.
Fishing on Rote Island can be awesome
Bree and Yann stayed at Lualemba Bungalow Resort on a mission to catch big fish and that’s what they did. Equiped with a variety different lures and other plastics they had good results each day. Lualemba is seeking another boat for fishing charters and outer surf breaks ready for season 2025 with Te Aila also we should be able to seek some awesome fishing.experiences.
July was a little disappointing for quality waves.
Probably for most guests small waves on Rote island are still fantastic compared to where they come from. The winds still blew off shore some days a strong for some people but for breaks like Tland the stronger the offshore the better the wave stands up and barrel opportunities are more regular. Check out the pictures below and decide if July being the worst month so far this season is ok for you.
